Sound doesnt work on Windows Movie Maker! HELP!?

I have a video on there and i want the sound from the video. it doesnt come on. all 8 million choices of volume are where they should be so it should work. I even converted the volume to .avi format and it still doesnt work. any other advice before i delete WMM?
